The adage, “do what you love - and every thing else will fall into place” rings true for savvy web contributors. Dedication is the primary factor. What subject would you absolutely love writing about?   Because, unless you have a genius online marketing scheme your site isn’t going to get hits. It’s all about the hits!!! You have to have content that people are interested in, and you have to write about that topic consistently. Traffic is created by search engines when you have a bounty of information on a topic over posted over a period of time. In other words one post on your blog from 3 years ago isn’t going to do much. Some contributors hit website gold by writing about a topic that just is not available on the internet. But for the most part you have to make several posts to increase the SEO, search engine optimization.
Once you get the hits - you need to build a relationship with your readers/ subscribers. How do you build relationships on a very impersonal internet - by giving your viewers something they didn’t already have. Because there is so much information out there it can be a daunting task for someone to research a topic and gain any value from what they find. Web contributors who post should strive to provide quality information, which in turn will increase the value of the relationships.
